Over lockdown and beyond I've had lots more visitors to the site so I thought I should update my About Me section and let you know a little bit more about me, Q&A style...
Q. Who am I and what is Alice's Wonders?
A. I’m Cathy, mum of 3, ex City worker and marketing manager, based in the pretty town of Epping in the beautiful Essex countryside.
I own and run Alice’s Wonders, an absolute treasure trove of perfect women’s accessories and gifts, curated from carefully chosen suppliers and designers.
With beautiful leather and vegan leather bags and jute baskets, to statement and delicate jewellery, stylish scarves, the perfect hair accessories and absolutely gorgeous velvet pouches and make up bags, all at a great price point, there’s something for all tastes at Alice’s Wonders.
Where possible pieces are sourced from UK independent businesses, including Lisa Angel, Pink Lemons, Sixton London, A Weathered Penny and selected others.
Q. Why did I start my business?
A. Following endless fruitless shopping trips over 6 years ago for stylish accessories at a price I was happy to pay I was inspired to source my own instead.
This led to me being asked to find more for friends, family and then friends of friends, until it appeared that a new online shop was needed!
Alice’s Wonders has evolved over the years from a tiny eBay venture to the website and online boutique I’m so proud of today!
Q. What's the best selling product that people can't stop buying?
It’s a tricky one to answer as it changes all the time as new stock arrives.
Currently the beautiful leather bags with their interchangeable bag straps are proving incredibly popular, unsurprisingly when you see how versatile and practical they are.
During chillier months the scarf collection comes into its own with the Charcoal Herringbone Blanket Scarf being an annual bestseller.
Q. Tell us a random fact about me and Alice's Wonders...
When I first started Alice’s Wonders I had no experience in websites or ecommerce but was determined to teach myself on the job.
My first ever stock order was placed on my credit card and cost the grand sum of £64.91, and even then I was rather stressed about the initial outlay!
I hope you've enjoyed finding out a bit about me - if you have any more questions about Alice's Wonders, how and why I started or what I love best about my work then comment below - or DM me on Instagram or Facebook, I'd love to hear from you!
Lots of love
